Centre for Sight wins the FICCI Healthcare Excellence Award for 2012

New Delhi, Delhi, August 31, 2012 /India PRwire/ -- Centre for Sight, India's leading network of eye hospitals wins the coveted FICCI Healthcare Excellence Award in Operational Efficiency in 100 beds category. The FICCI Healthcare Excellence awards, were the first of its kind to recognize and felicitate the proactive work of health care providers and state government to improve the standards of healthcare services for masses. In a short span the FICCI awards have emerged as the most credible and coveted in the industry. The award was given in a gala event held at Le Meridien, Delhi on 28th August, Thursday. The FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards recognize and felicitate health care providers (public or private) who have successfully used innovation to increase efficiency and improve performance of the healthcare delivery at large. This year FICCI adopted "Universal Healthcare: A dream or reality" as the main criteria to evaluate participants across the country. FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards are given across four categories: Operating excellence, Addressing industry issues, People who moved the needle and Special Jury award. The Screening Jury round was moderated by Ernst & Young to identify top 7 in 'Operational Excellence' category. An independent agency, Astron Healthcare validated the authenticity of the information provided by final nominees. Short listed nominees for Operational Excellence made live presentations to a panel of Final Jury. These sessions were also moderated by Ernst &Young. The jury provided scores for each nominee using the standard rating scale. Ernst & Young tabulated the scores given by each jury member and arrived at the winner. Dr Mahipal Singh Sachdev, Chairman & Medical Director, Centre for Sight said, "A total of 90 hospitals were in the fray for the awards across all categories. He pursued MD in Ophthalmology at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Center for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, the national apex institute for ophthalmology. He did advanced training and fellowship in Cornea at the Georgetown University, Washington, USA. He has received training in Refractive Surgery and Phacoemulsification.
