Gourav brings to his work unparalleled drive and an analytical toolkit along with business judgement honed through working with market leading companies across sectors. Whether it is designing the commercials of a new business model or working alongside entrepreneurs on tough organisation challenges, Gourav believes in solving for the minutiae that are essential for execution of a strategy.
Born in Bombay, Gourav graduated with an engineering degree from IIT Bombay. In order to get a deeper understanding of technology, he spent some time as a research associate at McGill University Canada working on nuclear technology. He went on to get a degree in business administration from IIM Ahmedabad, where he ranked in the top 5% of his class. At IIMA, Gourav also led the marketing and market research initiative, helping quickly and inexpensively 'field-test' ideas for small entrepreneurs just starting out.
Gourav had a short stint at UBS, where he learnt the mechanics of valuing businesses. At McKinsey, Gourav has worked primarily in the banking, insurance and pharmaceutical sectors. Gourav worked on digitizing brick-and-mortar businesses, creating stand-alone online distribution channels and driving consumer adoption for digital products. At McKinsey, Gourav learned the dynamics of working in high-performance teams, as well as what it takes to implement business plans down to the last mile.
Gourav is excited about applying his learning to his work as an early stage investment professional, and looks forward to supporting entrepreneurs navigate the complexity of the rapidly evolving mobile sector.
