Contributing to India’s growth and helping it achieve its place as a leading global economic power is a passion for Manas. He started this journey by attending the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, where he earned his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. Soon thereafter, he went to Massachusetts to join a telecom start-up called MaxComm Technologies. MaxComm was acquired by Cisco Systems in 2000 and Manas learned the virtue of being in the right place at the right time!
Within a year of joining Cisco, Manas got the start-up itch again and joined another telecom venture, Narad Networks just before the technology bubble burst. At Narad (now part of Ciena), Manas was exposed to the challenges of trying to build a business in an adverse macro economic environment.
Later Manas joined Camiant, a young, Matrix Partners U.S.-funded, systems company, as its director of marketing. The experience of building a market-leading company from the ground up taught Manas that even difficult goals are achievable if you work with a great team and enjoy the journey together.
Along the way, Manas earned his MBA in Finance from The Wharton School where he was a Palmer Scholar. He returned to India to join Matrix India as part of the core investment team.
